Connect your Walmart Marketplace/Supplier One account

Integrating Walmart Marketplace/Supplier One with Dashna allows you to sync product details and provide further insight such as inventory levels, total sales, and TACoS/TRoAS. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to set up the connection using Walmart’s API.

Connect a New Store

If you are just signing up for Dashna, then you will automatically be directed to created a store. If you would like to add additional stores to Dashna complete the following steps.
  1. Navigate to the Stores page under the Settings menu or click this link, and click Add Store
  2. You will see the following screen, detailing the accesses we require. Click Next to go to the next page.
  3. The following information is required to connect your account. 
  4. Store Nickname : A unique and easy-to-recognize name for your store within Dashna. This name is for internal reference, so choose something memorable.
  5. Client ID: This is a unique identifier for your Dashna connection, provided by Walmart
  6. Client Secret: A password associated with your Client ID to secure your account, provided by Walmart.
  7. Seller Type: 3P Seller or 1P Vendor/DSV
  8. Seller/Supplier ID: A unique ID given to each Seller/Supplier on signup by Walmart
  9. Distributer IDs (DSV Only):  A list of Distribution  Facility IDs.

Depending on the type of store you are trying to connect, you will either need to provide access to your Seller Center (3P Seller) account, or to your Supplier One (1P Supplier or DSV) account.

Creating an API Key

  1. Go to the following link: https://developer.walmart.com/account/generateKey and select the Marketplace option.

  2. Log in to your Seller Center account using a user with Admin privileges.
  3. Click the + Add New Key For A Solution Provider button and select SellCord from the dropdown and click Next

  4. On the Key Permissions page, change the options to reflect the image, then click Submit

  5. Once complete, a pop-up will indicate that the key has been added. Find SellCord on the list of keys, unhide the Client Secret. Now you will be able to copy both the Client ID and the Client Secret

  6. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret from the previous step and paste them into their respective fields.

  1. Go to https://seller.walmart.com/home and login if needed.
  2. Your Seller ID will be in the top left hand corner

  2. Your Seller ID will be in the top marked Partner ID

Now that you have all the required information you can fill out the form and click Next.

Creating an API Key

  1. Go to the following link: https://developer.walmart.com/account/generateKey and select the 1P Suppliers (US) option.

  2. If there is no API key available, you will need to create it. This is typically only needed once and is usually done when your account, is created. 
  3. Unhide the Client Secret. Now you will be able to copy both the Client ID and the Client Secret.

  1. To add the distributor ID's to Dashna, click the + Add Distributor ID button once for each facility to generate a field to enter the ID.
  2. Go to   https://retaillink.supplier.wal-mart.com/maintenance/dashboard and login if needed.
  3. Select the supplier you wish to add from the dropdown and click on the Logistics tile.

  4.  Expand the Facility Information dropdown to reveal the list of facilities and their ID's. Copy these over to the Distributor Id fields.

    Now that you have all the required information you can fill out the form and click Next.

Q: What if I lose my Client ID or Client Secret?
A: If you lose these credentials, you can generate new ones in the Walmart Developer Portal by following the same steps outlined above.

Q: Is there a limit to how many times I can generate API credentials?
A: There's usually no limit, but it's recommended to keep track of active credentials and revoke any that are no longer in use.

Q: i am getting a "Client ID or Client Secret is not valid" error
A: That error happens when Walmart does not recognize the Client ID or Secret. Double check that there are no typos in either field.
